At Paces, our team has a strong background in technical software and power industry experience, with members having worked at companies like AWS, NASA, GoogleX, and Meta. Despite our diverse origins, we all share a passion for tackling climate change. Our mission is to drive the global transition to renewable energy by enabling the best climate use case of every piece of land in the world.


Our team is led by our founders, James McWalter and Charles Bai, who bring extensive experience in building successful software companies. James was employee 1 at Google-acquired AI startup Hello Vera and has over 15 years experience in enterprise SaaS sales across multiple industries . Charles, who led AI efficiency and sustainability at Facebook AI, optimized AI models to reduce power and carbon costs significantly. Together, they have built multiple data-intensive software solutions at startups, combining their expertise to advance Paces' mission.
